Topic 4 – Session 3 – Big Civilization
The last bastion of the barbarian powers lay in northeastern Asia. This had been the core and the beginning of barbarian invasions since Roman times. Tribes had emerged from here and pushed out their neighboring tribes to the west and south who in turn had pushed out their neighboring tribes. Thus, barbarian tribes had finally invaded the civilized powers in the Orient, the Middle East, and Europe.
The Russians, having won their independence from the Mongols began pushing back under their the dramatic team of Ivan the Terrible and the Crimean Cossack Yermak.
