Topic 2 – Session 4 – Big Civilization
It was a small civilization as civilizations go. It hugged the edge of Europe. This land was further reduced by large indent of the Mediterranean Sea. Moreover, it was governed by small independent cities. Its most consequential cities were Sparta and Athens. Sparta was disciplined with a strong military ethos but no culture. Athens had culture galore but no discipline. This was the civilization that had to defend itself against the Persian invasions.
