Topic 5 – Session 4 – Big Civilization
The religion from their leader Mohammed aroused the Arab peoples. Within a couple of generations in the 600’s and the 700’s ad they conquered the eastern Mediterranean lands, Persia, and Egypt. Blocked at Constantinople, they rapidly expanded across the north African coast and invaded Spain. From there they ran into the early French (the Franks) and were turned back.
