Topic 1 – Session 6 – Big Civilization
Columbus and his contemporaries accomplished one big achievement. They began the process which bound the world together. The Columbine Trade connected the economies of the Americas to Europe and Africa. Before one lifetime after Columbus, India and the Orient was connected to the rest of the world via Europe. Because of these voyages we can begin to treat world history as a unified whole rather than just a collection of separate regions.
